    Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra, has strongly denied all allegations linked to the Rs 60 crore fraud case involving the celebrity couple. Taking to social media, Kundra dismissed the claims as “baseless and motivated” and stated that the matter is already before the High Court.

    His statement comes amid reports that the Mumbai Police have filed an FIR against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty and added Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with cheating.

    In his statement, Raj Kundra made it clear that both he and Shilpa Shetty completely reject the allegations being circulated against them. He said the claims are being unfairly portrayed as criminal in nature without any lawful basis.The statement read, “We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated. The issues sought to be raised are being given a criminal color without any lawful basis. A Quashing Petition has already been filed before the Hon’ble High Court and is pending adjudication.”

    Raj Kundra reveals High Court is examining the matter

    Raj Kundra also highlighted that the issue is already under the consideration of the High Court. Addressing the investigation, Raj Kundra said that both he and Shilpa Shetty have fully cooperated with the authorities.Kundra said, “Having fully cooperated with the investigation, we are sanguine that justice will prevail and have complete faith in the law enforcement authorities and the Indian judiciary. We respectfully urge the media to exercise restraint as the matter is sub judice.”Shilpa Shetty also shared the same statement on her Instagram story.

    What is the Rs 60 crore case involving Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra?

    The case is based on a complaint filed by businessman Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services. As per reports, the couple is under investigation by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) in connection with a Rs 60 crore fraud and cheating case.Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty have been accused of taking funds on the pretext of expanding their business. It has been alleged that the money was instead used for personal purposes. The couple has denied these claims.The Economic Offenses Wing is currently probing the alleged money trail linked to the case. The investigation is ongoing as authorities examine the financial transactions involved. Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty have maintained that they are cooperating fully with the investigation and that there has been no wrongdoing on their part.As part of the investigation, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty to prevent them from traveling abroad.Following this, the couple approached the Bombay High Court seeking suspension of the LOC, arguing that the restriction should be lifted. The Bombay High Court directed the couple to deposit Rs 60 crore or provide a bank guarantee of the same amount.
