Rana Daggubati appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Telangana, on Saturday for the ongoing probe into the alleged promotion of an online betting app.

After the session, he addressed the media briefly yet firmly, stressing his commitment towards creating public awareness.While leaving the office, he said, “We are going to use the right ways to communicate the right message about gaming and gaming apps. The legalities will be completed later. But I am here to do whatever is needed to help spread the message.”
Police FIR names twenty five public figures
The report further reveals, earlier this year, the Telangana Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) naming 25 celebrities and influencers. This included familiar names such as Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakondaand Manchu Lakshmi. They were accused of promoting allegedly illegal betting and gambling apps through their social media platforms.The FIR was registered at Miyapur Police Station after a petition filed by 32-year-old businessman PM Phanindra Sarma, who claimed that these promotions encouraged betting activity among the public.

Actor Vijay Deverakonda, who was also named in the FIR, released a clear statement earlier this year. Prakash Raj also addressed the issue in a video posted on his He explained that he had once agreed to promote a gaming app but soon felt it did not sit right with him. He said, “In 2016, people approached me for a gaming app, and I did do it. But within a few months, my conscience, maybe it was legal but I thought that it was not right. But I couldn’t do anything, so I let it go for a year’s contract. Immediately when they wanted to renew, I said no.
