Karan Johar on Kajol’s crush on Akshay Kumar
During the show ‘Two much with Kajol and Twinkle’, Karan Johar recalled the days before Kajol was set to shoot ‘Yeh Dillagi’. “I remember she was going to shoot for ‘Yeh Dillagi’,” Karan said. He hilariously impersonated an excited Kajol “coddling” him and crushing his bones, saying, “Oh my god, I’m going to work with Akshay, he’s so hot!” This anecdote set the stage for the major romantic shift that was about to happen in her life.
A nervous start on’Hulchul ‘ with Ajay Devgn
Karan’s story then moved to Kajol’s next project, ‘Hulchul’, which co-starred Ajay Devgn. He remembered her being very apprehensive before the shoot. “She went outdoors for ‘Hulchul’ with Ajay Devgn,” he shared, noting her anxiety. “I’m so nervous, I’ve never met him, God…” However, her nervousness didn’t last long. Karan described her returning from the shoot a changed woman, like a “bheegi billi”.
The sudden shift from ‘hot’ to ‘clever’
When Kajol returned, her tune about her co-stars had completely changed. Instead of gushing about looks, she was now full of praise for Ajay Devgn’s mind. Karan recalled her saying, “He’s very clever, you know… he’s very intelligent, he’s very smart.” This sudden pivot from her earlier crush left Karan completely puzzled. “I’m like, what’s going on here? The whole shift!” he exclaimed. Before he knew it, Kajol dropped the final bomb: “And before I tell ya, I’m getting married!”
