Actor Kamaal R Khan, best known as KRK, was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with a firing incident in Oshiwara, Andheri. As per the latest update on the case, KRK on Friday, was identified as the prime suspect and taken in for questioning at the Oshiwara police station. The actor allegedly fired two rounds in a residential area.
Kamaal R Khan admits to firing gun
IANS reports that during the interrogation, police revealed that Khan admitted to firing the shots and disclosed that he used his licensed gun. The police have since seized the weapon and officials are continuing their formalities for further legal action.According to reports, the incident occurred on January 18, when two rounds were allegedly fired at a residential building. During the investigation, officers recovered two bullets from Nalanda Society. While one was recovered from the second floor, the other was found on the fourth floor. Authorities said one of the flats is occupied by a writer-director, while the other was being occupied by a model.
About the investigations
An investigation led by Sanjay Chavan, with a team comprising around 18 personnel, along with multiple teams from the crime branch, was reportedly investigating the firing incident. While the investigators initially faced difficulties as CCTV footage from the area did not yield any immediate leads, the police, with the assistance of a forensic team, were later able to narrow down their search and later indicated that the shots were likely fired from Khan’s bungalow.
Police to formally arrest Kamaal R Khan
Police said KRK has been formally arrested and will be produced before a court later on Saturday, following which his formal arrest may be completed on Saturday.
Kamaal R Khan tweets ‘Border 2 ‘ review
The news of the arrest comes hours after KRK posted a series of tweets reviewing director Anurag Singh’s ‘Border 2’. He wrote, “Director Anurag Singh has shot every scene of Border 2 to please Indian audiences. Pakistani soldiers cry and beg for mercy in every scene. Indian soldiers kill them. This means that Indians will be delighted to see these scenes. The film is sure to be a blockbuster.”In another tweet, he added, “The interval is over, and Border 2 is still a good film. Director Anurag Singh has given his best. He had complete control over every scene. His direction is top-class. Diljit Dosanjh was excellent. He was the soul of the film. 4 stars to go.”
