After Suryakumar Yadav’s fan and social media influencer Faizan Ansari claimed to have filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case, Khushi Mukherjee has once again found herself at the center of the controversy over her remarks about the Indian cricketer.Speaking to the paparazzi, Khushi issued a strong warning, stating that if Suryakumar Yadav loses the defamation case, she will file a Rs 500 crore case against him. At the same time, she admitted that the two had spoken earlier in a friendly manner, stressing that there was nothing inappropriate about it.
‘There is nothing wrong in chatting’
Khushi maintained that casual conversations should not be blown out of proportion. She claimed that many people chat with her, including cricketers and even non-married individuals from different professions.She also asserted that she could not have defamed anyone, describing herself as “very soft spoken.” Khushi added that she does not even know who has filed the defamation case, revealing that she has not received any legal notice so far.
‘My words came out, but there was no defamation’
Earlier, Khushi clarified that she never intended to defame the Indian T20I captain, though she admitted that her comment may not have been necessary.“What has been said from my moon has come out, that should not be taken out. But there is no point in defamation in us,” she told Instant Bollywood, explaining that while she acknowledged having spoken to Suryakumar in the past, there was no intent to malign him.Reacting to reports of legal action, Khushi reiterated that she has not received any defamation notice till now. According to her, the issue has been exaggerated by social media chatter and television debates.“I mean, this is the truth, it’s true. Defamation? No, I haven’t received any defamation, and I don’t think in any way I have defamed him,” she said.
Slams ‘attention-seeking influencers’
Khushi also took a sharp dig at those amplifying the controversy, calling them opportunistic influencers trying to gain visibility. Without naming Faizan Ansari directly, she accused some individuals of “warming their hands at the bonfire.”“And the rest is, some such cheap influencers have come to bake their hands in the bonfire and started barking. So let them bark, that’s all I can say,” she remarked bluntly.The controversy began after Khushi claimed in an interview that Suryakumar Yadav “used to message her a lot,” while clarifying that there was never any romantic relationship between them. The remark quickly went viral, leading to backlash and, eventually, Faizan Ansari’s announcement of a Rs 100 crore defamation suit.
