Gulshan Devaiah made a striking entry into Kannada cinema with ‘Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1’, as he portrayed the character of King Kulashekhara. The actor won a lot of appreciation for his performance in the film. ‘Kantara’ has been one of the biggest hits this year. The Rishab Shetty directorial which also starred him, had Rukmini Vasanth also in a pivotal role. Recently, ‘Kantara’ has been in the news again after Ranveer Singh imitated the ‘Daiva’ and faced backlash for the same. The actor had later dropped a public apology for the same. He wrote on social media, “My intention was to highlight Rishab’s performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know much it would take to perform that particular scene the way he did, for which he has my utmost admiration.”He added further, “I have always deeply respected every culture, tradition and belief in our country. If I have hurt anyone’s sentiments, I sincerely apologize.” Meanwhile now, Gulshan has reacted to the whole Ranveer controversy. He said during a chat with NDTV, “My personal views are not popular views. I really don’t get affected by such things so much. If somebody feels disrespected or something, I understand. Ranveer apologized as well. Let’s take it with that. I don’t know what his intent was, only he knows. We all make mistakes when we get excited.” Devaiah added further, “I think it is part of certain people’s identity, those who belong to the Tulu community and live in that land. From their perspective, it is correct. Since he apologized, we should just accept it and move on.”In the same interview, Gulshan also spoke about working with Rishab Shetty. He said, “Working with Rishab Shetty was superb. His ability to handle stress is amazing. It’s his greatest strength, and I admire it. We had a wonderful equation, and there is a mutual admiration for each other. I am so happy he is in the position that he is in. He is incredibly ambitious and hardworking, and he has the willingness to deal with pressure.,
