NEW DELHI: Several major storylines emerged from Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League action, as heavyweights stumbled while others strengthened their title credentials. Manchester City suffered one of the biggest shocks of the round, losing 3–1 away to Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, while defending champions Paris Saint-Germain were edged out 2–1 by Sporting CP.

Arsenal continued their perfect run with an impressive 3–1 win over Inter Milan, and Real Madrid produced a dominant 6–1 victory against Monaco. At Aspmyra Stadion, Manchester City were stunned early as Kasper Hogh struck twice within two minutes, scoring in the 22nd and 24th minutes to put Bodo/Glimt firmly in control. Jens Petter Hauge added a superb third in the 58th minute before Ryan Cherki briefly raised City’s hopes with a goal two minutes later. City’s chances faded further when Rodri was sent off, and the defeat dented their hopes of finishing in the top eight, leaving them seventh with 13 points.PSG also endured a late setback in Lisbon. Luis Suárez put Sporting ahead in the 74th minute before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia equalized five minutes later. However, Suárez struck again in stoppage time to seal a dramatic win. Sporting moved to sixth with 13 points, level with PSG in fifth.Arsenal’s unbeaten run continued in style against Inter Milan. Gabriel Jesus scored his first Champions League goals since November 2023, netting twice in the first half after Petar Sucic briefly equalised. Substitute Viktor Gyökeres wrapped up the win late on as Arsenal secured their eighth straight victory, guaranteed a top-two finish, and ensured home advantage in the knockout stage.Real Madrid showcased their firepower against Monaco, with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice early on. Further goals from Franco Mastantuono, Vinícius Junior and Jude Bellingham completed the rout, while Monaco managed a consolation strike through Jordan Teze. Madrid sits second with 15 points.Elsewhere, Tottenham boosted their top-eight hopes with a solid 2–0 win over Dortmund, scoring through Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke after Dortmund were reduced to ten men.
