An attack by a father-son duo on a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach that left 15 dead and over 42 others wounded, has plunged Australia into a day of mourning. The shooting took place during an annual Hanukkah event, which police said was attended by around 1,000 people. As per reports on AP, Police say the attackers fired into the crowds, killing people aged from 10 to 87. Forty-two people, including police officers, were hospitalised, with five in a critical condition.Following confirmation that the attack was declared as a ‘terrorist incident’ by New South Wales Premier Chris Minns, the attack has sparked condemnation worldwide. After Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, described it as an act of “pure evil”, Hollywood celebrities, including Gal Gadot, Rebel Wilson, Ashton Kutcher, Mandy Moore, and many others have taken to social media to speak out against the attack.

Australian actress Rebel Wilson expressed shock and grief in an Instagram Story, calling the attack “an absolute tragedy” and “the most un-Australian thing to have happened.” She added, “We shouldn’t have gun violence in Australia, we shouldn’t have antisemitism — it’s not us. Thinking of everyone affected by this devastating violence.”Gal Gadot shared a deeply emotional message on Instagram, writing that her “heart is shattered” by the attack, which deliberately targeted a sacred moment of community and hope. Urging unity and compassion, the actress said, “Our strength is not in despair, but in the light we fiercely choose to create.” Gadot added that she would light her Hanukkah candle in honor of the victims and “for a world of light.”
