Basu also revealed Arijit’s lesser-known interest in filmmaking. “He asked me to make him an assistant in Barfi. He has an in-depth knowledge about filmmaking,” he shared, highlighting the singer’s creative curiosity beyond music.Adding another layer to Arijit’s future plans, Basu revealed that the singer dreams of giving back. He told the outlet that Arijit wants to open a school for children and spend time with them.

“I am calling it off,” Arijit announces.

Earlier on Tuesday, Arijit announced his decision to step away from playback singing in a heartfelt Instagram note. Thanking listeners for their continued support, he wrote, “I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on,” adding, “I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”Addressing speculation, Arijit later clarified his decision on his private X account. “There is not one reason behind this, there are several reasons,” he wrote.
