Bad Bunny wins a Grammy award, says 'ICE out' during acceptance speech
At the Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican sensation, seized the moment after winning for ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ to advocate for immigrant rights. He boldly stated, ‘ICE out’ and affirmed, ‘we are humans, and we are Americans.’ His heartfelt words for love over hate struck a chord with many.

Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny recently scored big at the Grammys with his win. Under the música urbana album category, the idol accepted the Grammy award for his album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos.‘ During his acceptance speech, Bad Bunny ensured to thank everyone around him, but also took the chance to address the recent ICE-related issues that have been rising in the US.

Bad Bunny says ICE out in grammy acceptance speech

While accepting his Grammy award for his album, Bad Bunny took the chance to raise his voice against injustice. In his speech, he stated, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out. We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans. Hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it: With love.”The speech has gone viral on social media platforms and was met with a rather loud round of applause and a standing ovation from the audience members. The speech comes after protests had broken out across the US following recent crackdowns on immigrants and shooting cases related to the organization.

    Olivia Dean’s acceptance speech

Bad Bunny was not the only artist who took a moment during his acceptance speech to address the ICE crackdown on immigrants. Olivia Dean took home the award for Best New Artist and said, “I am a product of bravery” as she recalled that she was the granddaughter of immigrants. She further continued, “I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We are nothing without each other.”Jack Antonoff and Billie Eilish also wore “ICE OUT” pins to the award show, while the latter also mentioned the phrase in her acceptance speech by adding “No one is illegal on stolen land, F*** ICE.”
